Granny's Poultry members ratify new three-year deal

Workers at Granny's Poultry in Steinbach, Manitoba, overwhelmingly ratified a new three-year collective agreement that will bring increased wages and improved benefits. The UFCW Local 832, who represents the workers, successfully negotiated  several improvements in the new contract.

The new contract:

--Establishes wage increases between $1.29 for a Class 1 worker to $4 for Tradesperson rate

-- Increases shift premiums and tool and boot allowance

--Establishes stronger contract language for grievance procedure, vacation carryover, medical certificates, overtime, and new member orientation
