Local 617 Workers seal a new deal with Pinnacle Foods in Fort Madison, Iowa

More than
375 workers at the Pinnacle Foods Plant have ratified a new contract with
the company. Workers at the plant make Vienna Sausages and “Treat”.
The new
contract:
--Establishes wage increases including $2.15 per hour over the life of the
contract;
--Maintains affordable health care. The contract lowers health care costs,
maintains the co-premium for the life of the contract, and increases health
care benefits & coverage including: increased dental coverage with only
slight increase in cost, lasik surgery, child immunizations, preventive
care visits,
--Improves working conditions;
--Improves retirement security by boosting the
401(k) to
4% for all employees who do not qualify for the previous Retiree Medical
Health Program. And, improves Pension plan from $34 per service year to $55
per service year.
